It’s annoying when you set up a server in the rack and come back to your nice and cosy chair only to find that someone !#!@# forgot to enable RDP on the server - For the lazy admin, this registry hack is a godsend.
To enable RDP on a server
- Connect to the registry of the remote server from your machine
- HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Terminal Server
find fDenyTSConnection and change the data from 1(RDP disabled) to 0(RDP enabled) -
shutdown -m \\servername -r
to reboot the remote machine.
